Hello everyone! I found the 45 questions prompt interesting, so I thought I'd also introduce myself :^D expand the cut below if you'd like to read the typhoon of words.

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet) and hometown.

I've really only gone by Katie online, though my various usernames over the years have always had something to do with flowers or plants.

2. About how long is your history as a Lolita?

I have been officially wearing Lolita for about two years now, but building my wardrobe has been slow going! I'm taking my time.

3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion?

I've been aware of Lolita for years and years now, but it had never really been something I was super interested in. But about three or four years ago I "rediscovered" it and it's like a switch flicked in my brain somehow, and it really appealed to me!

4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita?

The two years after I "rediscovered" Lolita fashion, I really couldn't do anything but admire from afar and dream because at the time I didn't have a job :^) and I'm actually kind of glad for it, it helped me really determine and cement my taste.

5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita;. Etc).

Classic Lolita, with the barest hint of sweetness. I like subtly sweet motifs and cute things, but in an elegant way. My wardrobe at the moment is primarily softer and lighter colors and florals, though I want to eventually expand to darker colors in the range of red and navy. Bordeaux is one of my favorites!

6. About how many Lolita friends do you have?

One! We met in class at college, I feel really lucky to have a Lolita friend at all haha.

7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita?

The clothes, of course! I'm in it for the dresses, and how elegant they make me feel.

8. Conversely, what's the worst thing?

Sometimes I worry about how people will react to me, especially my family. But I don't even have it that bad, since my personal Lolita style is generally subdued.

9. Which Lolita Brands do you like?

Innocent World is by far my favorite and makes up the majority of my wishlist, though I also love Millefleurs, Victorian Maiden and Mary Magdalene.

10. What was the first Lolita item that you've owned?

BTSSB's Bambi de la Forêt Secrete ~Petite Princesse de la Forêt~ JSK I. I don't even wear it that often, though, I got it when I thought I would be in the ballpark of more sweet...

11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item?

OTKS. For some reason my coords feel empty without them.

12. Do you wear drawers?

I don't own any bloomers at the moment, I just wear sports spandex/shorts.

13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music?

Yes, I do really enjoy Malice Mizer and Buck-Tick :)

14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita?

Museums & cafes :) But one day I want it to just be a part of my regular wardrobe.

15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita?

At the moment I don't wear it nearly as often as I'd like, as my wardrobe is small and currently have nowhere to go other than work, where Lolita really wouldn't be situationally appropriate. So it's more like once or twice a month lol.

16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita.

I thankfully have been able to avoid disaster so far...

17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most?

I personally like curled hairstyles over straight hairstyles. I feel like the increased volume of the curls looks nice.

18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason?

There were a few times in the very beginning where I nearly talked myself out of starting it properly, mostly because I worried about what my parents would say (about the clothes, the cost, the anything), but honestly at this point my attitude it's my money, and my wardrobe, and I'm still quite responsible with my money, so it's no one's business.

19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...)

the documentary Living Lolita by RTÉ. It's not very long but well edited and shot, and it feels like a very personal encouragement to keep doing what I love, and I rewatch it often. Also, I personally really admire the designer of Innocent World, Yumi Fujiwara.

20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely!

No, I don't own any.

21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes?

For me I think simple is best, so I just wear concealer, mascara, blush, and lipstick. Lipstick is essential, my natural lip color is so pale...

22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out?

Nope!

23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself?

Of course! I'm proud of my ability to maintain my bearing and be calm.

24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes& accessary monthly?

I don't think I buy pieces often enough to actually have an estimate for this lol.

25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it?

My BTSSB dress mentioned above—it was $245 with shipping.

26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods?

I'd rather not share that. Or really put much thought into calculating it.

27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of
Lolita?

I am, thankfully, employed!

28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good
and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not.

Only ever bought online!

29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us
about a private manufacturer that is the best.

N/A?

30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"?

So many things. Most of the Millefleurs dresses I admire in particular seem lost in the sands of time. Rose Panel OP, where are you....

31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay?

I don't really think much of it.

32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’)

I wouldn't put a cap on how old you can be, but I do think that young teens should wait until they're older, for when their tastes are more developed, and they probably have more money lol.

33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about?

None that I can think of!

34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about?

I really do think most of the lolita "rules" are very important for the fashion to still be Lolita.

35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita?

I used to be obsessed with BTSSB, though I've become far more interested in more classical dresses.

36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita?

I do wear Lolita on occasion to classes!

37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear?

Yes, but not as often as I'd want.

38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”)

No lol, I would prefer a girlfriend.

39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it?

My friends are supportive, my parents don't seem to feel any particular way about it.

40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now?

Fanny Rosie is a lolita I've followed for a long time, her outfits are really creative and inspiring, even when not Lolita.

41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made?

Nope!

42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us.

Something that looks very sharp and well put together, and as elegant as the outfit or situation allows.

43. Is there a motif that you think “this is iconic of Lolita”?

Strawberries!

44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita?

No, I don't think so.

45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita?

The imaginary cartoony "lifestyle lolita" in my mind that has the stereotypical "elegant lady" persona and interests lolol. I wouldn't say it's an *ideal*, but it's what I think of when I think "Lolita".

This was really fun! I hope someone has read this far haha.
