Since I don't have as much time as I'd like for photography, but also do want to take pictures of my actual dresses, I've decided to split my wardrobe post up into multiple parts by theme! Up first because it's the smallest subset is my wa dresses!

First up is the Hyakki Yukata OP by Excalibur Lolita in the red colorway. This is my one and only Xianyu purchase, and I dearly love it! It's the most "kimono-like" of all my dresses, and it's made of this really light cotton that's super wearable in the summer (unlike my actual kimono lol....).

My second wa dress is "Mountain Ghost and Wind" by Mitsuba (another Chinese indie brand). I bought this on Lace Market on a whim but I'm really glad I did. It's poly chiffon, and the myriad colors in the print make for endless coordinating options.

Third, and final, is "White Fox Amaryllis" by Royal Princess Alice, a Japanese indie brand. (Although they're getting a little big now to be called indie, perhaps?) This dress is super comfy with full back shirring and a flattering cut, and the sheer furisode jacket is light enough to be worn in summer still if I want. I usually wear this dress in the autumn however because the flower - higanbana, or spider lily, is also known as "equinox flower" and is associated with the autumn equinox and death.
Wa dresses can be hard to coordinate, which is why I only have the three. I love wearing them with tsukesage (sometimes known as tsukuri, or pre-tied) obi, as well as the narrower "obi" sashes they all came with. I love kimono (I have a pretty large collection of vintage and antique ones!), so wa dresses let me cross over two beloved styles! <3
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek of my wardrobe! I have four more sections to do - old-school, gothic, jewel-toned sweet, and pastel sweet! Plus maybe my shoes if I get really ambitious...we'll see! :D
